Almost all footwear outlets these days claim to sell ‘authentic' shoes that suit the feet of diabetics who are prone to frequent infections. While there is a lot of awareness about the need to wear diabetic or therapeutic footwear, there is little information available on how to differentiate the real from the phoney ones.
The essential task of diabetic footwear is to protect the foot and prevent complications like stress, strain, ulcers, callus and provide warmth. To be able to pick the right kind of footwear, patients should approach a certified orthopaedic or a diabetologist for necessary guidance. Read more
