Diabetic retinopathy is a key field in medical research, where positive changes occur very frequently. The way we manage diabetic retinopathy has changed immensely in the last few years and is still evolving rapidly. It is indeed a challenge for the retinal surgeon to keep in track with all the new developments of diabetic eye care. He needs to keep refreshing his knowledge on a yearly basis now as management strategies are evolving.

The most important positive changes over the last few years have occurred in prevention of diabetic retinopathy, comprehensive diabetic eye care, OCT guided treatments, intravitreal injections, medicated intravitreal devices and sutureless vitrectomy surgery. Read more
