Coimbatore district has 2.8 lakh diabetics, says study

Around 2.8 lakh people have diabetes in Coimbatore district and 3.2 lakh people have pre-diabetes, V. Mohan, chairman and managing director of Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre (DMDSC), said here on Thursday quoting an Indian Council of Medical Research - India Diabetes (ICMR-INDIAB) study. Dr. Mohan said that 48 lakh people in the State had diabetics, with rural areas accounting for 7.8 per cent and urban regions, 13.7 per cent. Read more
