The researchers from University of California in San Diego reviewed the medical records of a group of 129 Hispanic individuals who have been diagnosed with diabetes as reported by the Los Angeles Times. Findings of the study were showed at the American Psychiatric Association’s annual meeting.
The Latinos are well known to have high rates in type 2 diabetes compared to the general population. Moreover, the co-occurring mood disorder is more common in the individuals. Hence, the group of patients is an ideal one for studying the relationship between the mood disorder and the type 2 diabetes. Read more
